Bank Holiday weekend washout: Heavy rain on the way

Today’s sporadic sunny spells will be the last for the next 72 hours, and this Bank Holiday weekend is expected to be a writeoff weather wise.

Sunday and Monday will be particularly bad, and all those intending to enjoy outdoor activities are warned to bring along rain gear.

Saturday will start off somewhat bright and dry, with rain spreading across the country towards evening time. Sunday will be fairly cool, with temperatures peaking at a rather disappointing 13C. Isolated showers will turn increasingly widespread and heavier as the day progresses, and Monday it will be more of the same.

Early indications show milder weather for later in the week, so all is not lost.
