The former First Lady of the United States of America Barbara Bush, has reportedly declined further medical treatment and will remain under comfort care at her home.
Mrs Bush aged 92, who is said to be in ailing condition, reportedly refused to have further treatment following a number of hospital visits over the past few weeks.
In a statement released by the office of former President George HW Bush, the former First Lady confirmed her decision.
The statement reads as follows: “It will not surprise those who know her that Barbara Bush has been a rock in the face of her failing health, worrying not for herself – thanks to her abiding faith – but for others.”
“She is surrounded by a family she adores, and appreciates the many kind messages and especially the prayers she is receiving.”
It is currently not known what treatment Mrs Bush was receiving in hospital.
