It’s going to be bitterly cold today with wind chills making conditions feel like it’s freezing even though temperatures will remain at 5c.
Met Eireann have issued a status yellow weather warning as sleet is forecast to fall throughout the day in most areas.
Snow has already fallen in parts of Monaghan, Louth, Clare, Kerry and Donegal.
Gardai have advised motorists to be extra vigilant this morning.
