Blackout: Nearly 400 homes in Ballyfermot without electricity this morning after fire at ESB sub station

Hundreds of Dublin residents are without power this morning after a fire at a ESB sub station left many homes without electricity last night.

It us understood that in the region of 400 homes Ballyfermot suffered a blackout due to the blaze at the nearby power station.

A spokesperson for the ESB confirmed late last night that the power won’t be restored until specialised contractors get to work later this morning.

Although it is not known what caused the fire, Gardaí say they believe it could have been caused by vandals.
