In a heartbreaking and truly touching story a Dublin bride has paid tribute to her best friend who she lost to cancer 10 years ago, by recreating a childhood photograph in his memory on her wedding day.

The blushing bride named Jade Whyte aged 26 and her friends paid tribute to their friend named David O’Toole by recreating the exact same photo of them which was taken at their school on her wedding day, the memorable moment was captured by Jade and her friends two weeks ago to honor young David who tragically died at the young age of 16 after battling cancer.

The bride, Jade who is from Donaghmede, told The Irish Independent that she truly wanted to remember her best friend David on her wedding day. Jade told the paper: “After David died we were all absolutely heart-broken. He was the best friend I could have ever asked for. We were so upset, we built a garden at school in his honour to help us focus on something other than grief.” “I wanted to go back to the garden on my wedding day with my friends and my husband. Being there meant something to us and it was a lovely way to remember him during the day.”
“David’s mam couldn’t be at the wedding. She has moved away so it was lovely to be able to send her the photo.”

Meanwhile the newly wedded bride also said she believes the group of friends would not have such a string bond without David, she said; “It was so nice to go back to David’s garden with the friends that helped start it with me. I have such a good group of friends and I think David is the reason our friendships are so strong.”
