Bonus: Ryanair offers pilots a whopping €12,000 to give up their annual leave

Ryanair has offered its pilots a whopping €12k just to give up their annual leave and return to work.

The idea is that the pilots who give up their holidays would manage to bridge the gap in the schedule debacle which has seen some 50 flights a day being cancelled over the next 6 weeks.

The pilots won’t get their bonus until the end of October 2018 – but still, it’d be a nice extra few quid if they decide to take it.

Meanwhile, Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary has issued an apology to the 400,000 passengers affected and said that they’re doing what they can to rectify the situation and that it’s only around 2% of their entire passenger number that will be affected by the scheduling error.
