Books of condolence will be opened in Dublin and Belfast to pay tribute to victims of Nice terrorist attack

It has been confirmed that a book of condolence for the victims of the Nice terrorist attack will be opened on Monday at the Mansion House in Dublin.

Dublin City Council say the book will be open to the public from 10am-4pm on Monday and Tuesday to allow Dubliners express their sympathies and support to the families and friends of those who died.

It is understood President Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina will be the first to sign the book on Monday morning.

Meanwhile the Lord Mayor of Dublin Brendan Carr has described the sickening attacks as “incomprehensible, and that Ireland will stand in solidarity with the people of Nice and France during this incredibly difficult time.”

There will also be a Book of Condolence opened at Belfast City Hall on Monday morning. Belfast city council also say the Hall will be illuminated in the colours of the French flag as a mark of solidarity with the French people.
