Bottoms up: Irish Rugby players alcohol ban lifted following New Zealand victory

Ireland made history in Chicago by beating New Zealand for the very first time. And now it’s time to celebrate. Ireland’s rugby heroes will keep the party going when they travel home through the night. The players will toast the Irish supporters who helped make history happen in Chicago.

Ireland boss Joe Schmidt joked: “I think I actually said something inadvertently during the week like, ‘Well, if you win here, I don’t really care too much about what you do the rest of the (November) series’.

“I’ve probably put my foot in it there. Besty (Rory Best), being the stickler that he is, will probably remind me about that all night – and on the flight home, where there’s an alcohol ban which will probably be lifted as soon as the boys sit down.”

Cheers boys!
