On Sunday the 14th December Irishman Christopher “Jack” Barry was fatally stabbed . The attack happened in Edmonton, North London as Mr. Barry tried to enter his flat with his partner. The fatal assault occurred following a verbal altercation between Mr. Barry and a group of youths who were trying to gain access to the apartment complex. Police say he was followed into the complex by two youths and was then fatally assaulted.
Police have formally charged a 13 year old boy with the murder of Cobh born builder Mr. Barry. The youth who cannot be named for legal reasons has been officially remanded into custody and is currently in a youth detention centre. The boy appeared before the Magistrates this morning in Highbury Corner, Islington. Another four youths have been questioned in relation to the murder enquiry into the death of Mr. Barry; three of them aged 14 and one 13 year old.
Mr. Barry was fatally stabbed and bled to death in front of his 35 year old partner Sabrina Finn at the front doorstep of their home. Ambulance crews did attend Mr. Barry who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene at 8:40 pm on Sunday.
