Brave Crohn’s disease sufferer receives praise after he posts Facebook status asking people ‘not to judge a book by its cover’




A young man from the UK has been praised for his efforts after he highlighted his illness on social media recently.

The young man named Ste who suffers from Crohn’s disease took to Facebook to voice his anger and disgust at those who judge him for using disabled toilets even though he suffers with a severe illness. The brave young man says he felt he had to highlight his illness because the criticism he receives has become too much, Ste posted the brave message on Facebook recently in which he said “Just because I look normal and speak normal, that doesn’t mean I don’t have a major disability.”

Ste aged 24 and from West Yorkshire has received great praise from the public after he posted his message on October 25th, with the formal status going viral, with over 30,000 likes and 10,000 shares. The young man even went a step further to reveal the seriousness and the complications he experiences with his illness, by writing: “People are too quick to judge these days, just because I look normal and speak normal, that doesn’t mean I don’t have a major disability,”

The youngster added: “To look at me I look like any normal guy my age, but that’s because I want you to view me like that….look a bit closer tho [​sic​], or ask me questions, and you will soon realise that I have a major illness.”
