A major fire has broken out in an apartment complex in Tallaght, Dublin 24.

Emergency services are at the scene and are battling for the past 50 minutes to get the blaze under control. It’s not yet known what caused the fire other than eye witnesses telling The Liberal that there was a possible gas explosion or a car exploded at the rear of the complex in the car part and caught onto the apartment block opposite the bank of Ireland in Tallaght village.

It’s understood that people are being treated for smoke inhalation and shock but thankfully as of yet – no fatalities or major injuries have been reported.
