A tragic story is breaking this morning that reports a mother, aged in her 20s, has been killed after being hit by a car crossing the road in South London.
The accident is said to have happened late last night and the mother was pushing a very young child in a pram at the time of the crash. It’s understood that the child, believed to be a boy, has life-threatening injuries and has been rushed to hospital fighting for its life.
It’s not yet known what exact has happened other than the woman may have been crossing the road at the time of the crash. A man driving the car is believed to have non life-threatening injuries and is helping police with their enquiries.
The incident took place in Anerley, near Penge near Croydon Road. Tragically the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A total of 12 emergency vehicles rushed to the scene where they worked on the child before he was brought to hospital.
