There are reports tonight that David Drumm, once Chief Executive of the millstone around Ireland’s neck, Anglo Irish Bank, has been detained in the United States.
It is understood that Mr. Drumm has not yet been charged with any crime, but he will reportedly be kept in captivity until his extradition hearing takes place next Tuesday. Whether or not he will stand trial in Ireland will be decided at that hearing.
The ex-banker left Ireland after the Anglo debacle and ostracised himself in the United States.
