Gardai have confirmed this evening that they have found even more human remains have been found in the Wicklow mountains, bringing the total number of sites to five.
They now believe that the human remains are that of a woman.
A total of 200 gardai and special investigators are now involved in the search mission.
Gardai have not yet been able to establish the identity of the deceased, but believe that foul play is involved.
It’s not yet known precisely the connotations attached to this latest find but insiders say one possible line of inquiry that the gardai are taking very seriously is that of gangland warfare.
The first remains were found by a group of people returning from a picnic on Saturday. Gardai have subsequently identified three more sites concealing body parts.
