The well known TV personality Sir Bruce Forsyth, has sadly died at the age of 89 today.
Forsyth who hosted a whole host of shows including The Price Is Right and Strictly Come Dancing, sadly died after a brief illness.
The veteran performer had reportedly been unwell for some time and was in hospital earlier this year after a severe chest infection.
In a statement a spokesman for Forsyth’s family said: “It is with great sadness that the Forsyth family announce that Sir Bruce passed away this afternoon, peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Wilnelia and all his children.”
They added that he had recently been visited by a friend who had asked him what he had been doing in the last 18 months.
“With a twinkle in his eye, he responded ‘I’ve been very, very busy… being ill!’.
“Unfortunately, not long after this, his health deteriorated and he contracted bronchial pneumonia.”
