BREAKING: Mick McCarthy to give his first interview as Ireland manager shortly after 3pm in the Aviva

59-yr-old newly appointed Ireland manager Mick McCarthy will give his first interview about the job today in the Aviva stadium shortly after 3pm.

After lengthy discussions with the FAI, McCarthy who was clear favourite for the position, has signed a two year deal that will see take charge until 2020.

Meanwhile it has been revealed that Dundalk manager Stephen Kenny will take over from McCarthy following the European Championships in 2020.

It’s understood that Kenny will replace Noel King as the under 21s boss for the next two years.
