Up to 30 people are feared dead following an avalanche in central Italy which landed on a popular ski hotel.
The Hotel Rigopiano is located on the eastern lower slopes of the Gran Sasso mountain. The first of four earthquakesquakes hit this region yesterday.
Antonio Di Marco, president of the province of Pescara has said that two people had been saved.
Taking to Facebook he wrote: “We don’t know yet how many people are unaccounted for or dead.”
Italy’s Civil Protection Agency said there had been around 30 guests and staff at the Hotel Rigopiano.
