Breaking reports from Canadian media this morning say two men stormed a mosque in the city of Quebec at approximately 2am Irish time and shot up to 15 people, killing “at least 5” according to various media outlets.
Heavily armed police stormed the mosque within minutes and are said to have apprehended the gunmen and have them held in custody.
Police have not confirmed the motive of the shooting but the situation is said to be “ongoing”.
