17-year-old Malala Yousafzai has won this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, along with Kailash Satyarthi in India.
Malala was shot in the head by the Taliban in 2012 for speaking against them. She survived the attack and went on to become a global ambassador for children’s right to education.
The Nobel committee said that Malala and Satyarthi were granted the prize ‘for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to an education.’
Malala is the youngest ever person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
