The rockstar Chris Cornell of bands Soundgarden and Audioslave has suddenly died at the age of 52.
His PR representative called his death on Wednesday night “sudden and unexpected”, and has said that his wife and family were deeply shocked.
Cornell rose to fame with the 1990s grunge band Soundgarden, then went on to form the noughties supergroup Audioslave.
Perhaps this side of the Atlantic his most famous song was the James Bond theme song “You Know My Name” of the 2006 movie Casino Royale.
