A man in his 50s has lost his life after a 12-car pile up on the M7 Dublin to Limerick Road.
The road has been closed after the man lost his life in the massive crash at 8pm tonight.
The man died after receiving bad head injuries after his car left the road between Birdhill and Castletroy.
It’s believed a freak hailstone storm hit the area just before the crash occurred.
Emergency services declared the man dead at the scene with multiple other casualties taken to hospital.
A total of 12 cars smashed into each other on the motorway and gardai have opened an investigation.
