A woman has been arrested after she drove her car into the gates of government buildings .
It’s not yet known what her motive was or why she directed the car at the garda-manned gate.
The incident happened shortly after 10pm and a strong garda response ensued.
An investigation has opened and the arrested woman is being questioned on why she did what she did.
