Police have confirmed that a homeless man found dead in Belfast city centre this morning is originally from Dublin.
Tragically, the man is believed to have died in a shop doorway while sleeping outside in the freezing cold conditions last night in Belfast.
The man was found dead on Friday morning as shop workers arrived on the High Street. It’s understood that paramedics worked on the man to try and revive him but tragically it was too late for him and it was pronounced dead a short time later.
The area has been sealed off as personnel in forensics suits examine the scene for evidence.
Tragically it appears that the homeless crisis now goes both above and below the border as just before Christmas another homeless person sadly passed away.
