According to reports in Turkey this evening there has been multiple casualties following an armed attack at an Istanbul nightclub.
It is understood a number of people have been wounded in the attack which occurred outside the Reina nightclub, in the Besiktas area of the city.
Reports from NTV say two attackers were involved, with CNN Turk reporting they were dressed in Santa costumes.
It is believed one attacker remains inside the nightclub where several hundred people gathered to celebrate the new year. Local media also say a police operation is currently ongoing with the area sealed off.
