British actor and comedian Stephen Fry reveales he is currently undergoing treatment for prostate cancer

British actor and well known comic Stephen Fry has revealed that he is currently undergoing treatment for prostate cancer.

Fry who is well known for a number of acting and presenting roles, confirmed the news via social media on Friday.

The popular comic who has been out of the public eye in recent weeks revealed his ongoing health battle on Twitter withe the following post.

“For the last 2 months I’ve been in the throes of a rather unwelcome and unexpected adventure.” “I’m sorry I haven’t felt able to talk about it till now, but here I am explaining what has been going on.”

The former QI presenter then followed up the post by uploading a video message to his fans on his own personal blog.

In the the rather emotional message Fry revealed that he was diagnosed with the illness shortly before Christmas and that his current treatment is going well.

The respected actor also told his followers that he was somewhat fortunate as his doctors discovered the fatal illness early on after they gave him a thorough check up during his visit.

Fry also said he is currently on leave from his television and acting work, but he hopes to return in the near future.
