The Met Office has issued a statement saying that summer 2018 could be the hottest in over 12 years.
Forecasters predict that hotter-than-normal conditions may arrive in Britain as early as the coming week, bringing temperatures in the high 20s which might go on between June and August.
If the predictions turn out to be accurate, Ireland may also bask in sunshine for the next while, making this summer one to remember.
Highs of 26-27C have been recorded across Ireland over the last few days, and if the forecast comes to pass we could see highs in the low to mid 30s.
