It’s now looking more likely than ever that we’re all collectively facing a no-deal Brexit.
The UK Prime Minister appears to have failed to persuade enough members of her own party or the DUP to support deal with the EU.
The DUP has ruled out support for the unpopular deal and PM May’s Conservative party MP’s are increasingly in favour of a no-deal break with Brussels.
For his part the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said it would be prudent to step up no-deal Brexit preparations but have not elaborated as to what these preparations actually are?!
In case of a no-deal Brexit the Irish border will become an external EU frontier meaning that Brussels will insist on a hard border being enforced.
Meanwhile, a thousand police officers from England and Scotland are preparing for a hard border in Ireland as an auxiliary force to the PSNI will be needed in the case of such a scenario.
EU leaders however, have completely ruled out any new negotiations or reopening of talks.
