A massive 54% of drivers in Ireland say insurance costs are the biggest obstacle to affording their own car.
Overall, 40% say they are not satisfied with their current premium with almost half saying that they don’t fully understand car finance options.
Half of those questioned by Carzone.ie say they intend to sell their car within the next year.
Other interesting results showed that German car marques remain most popular among Irish motorists – Volkwagen, BMW and Audi are the top three.
Black is the most popular colour, followed by blue, silver and red.
