Bureaucratic monster: The EU seeks to put Ireland in its box by transferring more power from Dublin to Brussels

Irish MEP Brian Hayes has warned that the EU plans on challenging Irelands Corporate Tax Regime.

Several EU members view Irelands low corporate tax policy as giving the country an unfair advantage in attracting in foreign investment.

The EU has long criticised Irelands low corporate tax, with France being one of the most vocal proponents of an EU wide tax policy, something that Brussels does intend to introduce in the coming years in its bid to centralise more power in the hands of EU elites.

One outspoken Dutch MEP Paul Trang has even compared Ireland’s tax policy to piracy.

Ireland has been able to hold its ground in previous challenges to its tax regime as it had a powerful ally and partner in the form of the UK.

With Britain’s imminent withdrawal from EU on the horizon, Ireland may not have the clout to resist the EU’s renewed power grabbing effort.
