Both Bus Eireann and Dublin Bus have confirmed that they will take legal action in a bid to recoup the monies lost by the two-day long strike which will commence at midnight tonight.
The combined losses to both companies are estimated to run into millions.
Bus Éireann and Dublin Bus have issued the unions involved in the dispute with legal letters, informing them of their move to seek compensation for any incurred losses.
The companies have described the dispute as illegal, unprecedented and totally unjustified.
