Six people were taken to hospital as a precaution, after a swarm of bees went on the attack at a parking lot in the Los Angeles suburb or Monterey Park yesterday.
Local media reported that the onslaught began after a nearby beehive was disturbed.
Firefighters were called to the area, and were forced to use high-density foam to tackle the bee menace.
Three civilians and three firefighters were taken to hospital due to the sheer number of bee stings sustained.
