Some heartless individuals stole the prosthetic leg of a 4-year-old American boy who was visiting the beach for the first time.
The incident happened while little Liam Brenes (4) was visiting Crystal Cove State Beach, Orange County, California with his family last Sunday.
It is understood the boy left the prosthetic leg with the family’s belongings while they went down to the water. When he returned, it was gone. The thieves also made off with some cash, mobile phones, and other valuables.
Little Liam went on a local radio station in LA to decry the incident.
He said “We were in the water for two hours. And came back and everything was gone. They stole my leg.”
His mother, Amanda told the station: “It’s just heartless. It’s a child’s leg, you know? He needs it to be able to get around and function normally.”
After the incident came to light, a GoFundMe page was setup, raising $16,700 thus far.
Some TV celebrities also pitched in and organized a Disney trip for the family, to help Liam forget about such foul deed.
