Four gardai, all based in Co. Kildare, have been suspended pending an investigation into whether they snorted cocaine in a nightclub toilet before Christmas.
It’s understood that the three men and one women are aged between 26 and 38 years of age.
A member of the public is said to have given the gardai a tip-off that they saw the members of the force in the nightclub snorting the illegal class A drug.
The gardai have confirmed that a major internal investigation has now begun and that the four members have been suspended.
