The popular photo sharing app, Snapchat has made changes to its privacy policy. The premise of the app is that photos you send to friends will disappear after being viewed. However it would appear that it is not quite that simple.
According to Snapchat’s new privacy policy, your photos, selfies and videos can be stored by the company for future use if they so wish. As the privacy policy now states users ‘grant Snapchat and our business partners the unrestricted, worldwide, perpetual right and license to use your name, likeness, and voice in any and all media.’
This means that any photos or videos you send on the app are the property of Snapchat and may be used for promotional purposes and ‘you will not be entitled to any compensation’.
