Chiyo Miyako, the world’s oldest verified female, passed away last Sunday aged 117.

According to birth records, Ms. Miyako was born on May 2, 1901 in Wakayama in the Kansai region of Japan.

Her family had lovingly deemed her a ‘chatty goddess.’

Chiyo Miyako sadly died on Sunday, just days after official evidence of her applications for the official Guinness World Record titles of oldest person living and oldest person living (female) were officially approved.

It’s understood that the woman was very interested in calligraphy, the visual art of writing and fonts, and loved eating sushi and eels.
