Christmas already underway as both Dublin and Limerick city councils start hanging up lights




It is not even Halloween yet but the festivities of Christmas are in full swing already with just under two months to go as Christmas lights are being put up in Dublin city centre and Limerick city.

The Christmas spirit has already gripped both cities as thousands of lights are being hung up early in order to make the switching on ceremonies in late November.

It is thought DublinTown have already started putting up festive lights around the city in preparation for #DublinatChristmas.

Meanwhile Limerick city council have begun decorating the streets if the city in preparation of their switching on ceremony also in November.

According to DublinTown their workforce of 20 people will hang a staggering 1,000,000 lightbulbs spanning a 4.5km stretch that will see 30 streets glow this Christmas, it is thought the whole operation will take over 200 hours to complete.

There you have it folks, it seems like Christmas is already in full swing!
