Over 500 people have been arrested, and at least 50 have been injured, during the ongoing protests against the French Government in Paris.
The so-called ‘yellow vests’ protests erupted on November 17 last when hundreds of thousands of people gathered to protest against perceived high cost of living in France.
Skirmishes and running battles broke out along Paris’ main avenues today, with police using tear gas and water cannons in an effort to disperse the crowds.
A number of landmarks, high-end stores and restaurants were shut due to fears of looting.
