Cleared for landing: Dáil officially grants permit for Santy to travel across Ireland this Christmas

It maybe just a little over a week to go until Santa comes down our chimneys, but today the mam in red was given great news after the Dáil confirmed that a permit has been granted for him to travel over Ireland this Christmas Eve.

The fantastic news now means Santy he will be able to make his deliveries to everyone on December 24 and the early hours of December 25 as planned.

The news was rather sarcastically confirmed by Fine Gael TD Jim Daly earlier today when he asked the Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald about his much anticipated arrival after hearing some concerns there could be objections from some to Santa’s travels.

Mr Daly said: “I’ve been asked, Tanaiste, to clarify with you that you might confirm to the house if the Government has had negotiations with the Fianna Fáil party on the proposal to grant the permit to allow Santa Claus to travel in Irish airspace if the Fianna Fail party has an agreed position on that proposal?”
