Two families have been given closure after a new DNA profiling system has identified the remains of two previously unidentified bodies.

According to RTÉ News, the two sets of remains were identified following a new DNA extraction procedure carried by Forensic Science Ireland.

RTÉ News say both the remains of Margaret Glennon and James Gallagher have been identified by forensic scientists.

Ms Glennon (59) from Baldoyle who went missing in May 1995 was identified after testing on remains found in Swords back in 2014 proved to be a match with her family’s DNA profile.
