Cold week ahead with some snowfall expected as temperatures will plummet to low as -2C

The weather will become a whole lot colder this week as forecasters say freezing temperatures and some light snow showers are expected from Tuesday onwards.

In a stark change from last week, Met Eireann say temperatures will plumett with frost and ice patches expected overnight.

The national forecaster who also say there maybe some snow especially on high ground, say temperatures are expected to range from between 5-9C on Tuesday, whilst temperatures will drop to -2C overnight.

It is expected that some heavy rain showers will arrive later in the week with some turning wintery on higher ground particularly in the North of the country.
