The nations hospitals are once again finding themselves over stretched this morning as latest figures revealed that there is currently 601 people waiting on a bed.
According to the latest figures published by the INMO the University Hospital Limerick has the largest number waiting at 51, whilst Cork University Hospital was second on the list with 45 patients waiting on a bed.
Meanwhile both Tallaght Hospital and Letterkenny General were third on the list as figures revealed there were 33 people waiting.
The latest figures will place further scrutiny on the health service as a recent review found that approximately 2,600 beds will be needed in the next 15 years.
