Sinn Féin’s Michelle O’Neill will officially become the party’s new deputy leader after it was confirmed she was the only person nominated for the the position.
Following week’s of change within the party, Ms O’Neill will officially step into the role vacated by the new Sinn President Mary Lou McDonald.
It is expected both Ms Mcdonald and Ms O’Neill will take their new positions following a party conference on February 10th.
