A man in his 80s sadly lost his life in a house fire in Co. Cork earlier today.
The incident happened in Buttevant, Co. Clare, late yesterday evening. An elderly man died in the blaze, while a man in his 40s sustained serious injuries.
Several units of the Cork fire service brought the fire under control in the late evening.
The body of the deceased was taken to Cork University Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
