There was some sad news announced recently as former Coronation Street actor Peter Armitage has passed away aged 78.
Armitage who is best known for playing Bill Webster in ITV soap opera passed away this week.
The news of the actor’s death was confirmed by his colleague Charlie Lawson (Jim McDonald) via Twitter.
Paying tribute to his friend and co-star Lawson wrote: “It’s with great sadness, that I’ve to tell you my great old friend Pete Armitage has died,” he wrote. “RIP mate.”
Armitage first appeared in the soap as the father of stalwart Kevin Webster 30 years ago and had been recurring cast member in recent years.
