Costly debate: New figures show TDs spent a massive €1,000 in the Dáil bar whilst debating Finance Bill




It has been revealed this week that TDs in the Dáil spent a staggering €1,000 on drink in the Dail bar after the Finance Bill was passed this November.

The latest figures released under the freedom of information act, shows that the country’s leading politician spent the hefty sum whilst drinking until 4.30am on the night of November 24th.

It is believed the Bill which was debated between midnight and 4.30am was also a drinking affair as TDs ordered a large quantity of drinks including 29 pints of Guinness, 14 bottles of Corona, 11 pints of Carlsberg, 8 pints of Heineken, 8 pints of Budweiser, 7 pints Smithwicks and 4 pints of Bulmers.

The figures also show the leading TDs downed 12 glasses of wine, 6 gin and tonics, 2 Jamesons and a Hennessy cognac.
