There are reports this evening that three people have been killed during a police raid on a suspected terrorist cell in the town of Verviers, in eastern Belgium.
Conflicting accounts about the incident have emerged from different Belgian media outlets, some suggesting that there may only have been two people dead. Other media channels reported three casualties.
The actual number of fatalities remains unclear at this point.
Similar counter-terrorism raids have been carried out at other locations across Belgium, in the wake of last week’s deadly Paris attacks that left 20 people dead.
