Coveney: Homeless families will no longer have to live in hotels by July

Minister for Housing Simon Coveney has said that homeless families will no longer have to live in hotels by July of this year.

The man who is lined up to go against Leo Varadkar in a Fine Gael leadership battle when Enda Kenny eventually steps down said: “I set targets and I want to obtain them”.

He said: “Yes, we are still setting a target, if you don’t set a targat then you don’t get things done.”

The situation homeless families are caught in is said to be one of “ordinary people caught in an extraordinary market.”

The so-called family hubs will eventually see an end to homeless families living in hotels and moving into more than likely newly-built accomondation.
