Baby food giant Cow & Gate have issued a statement this evening warning the general public that they are currently in the process of recalling a batch of Cow & Gate Sunny Start My First Banana Muesli due to a possible insect contamination.
The company say they suspect that a batch of the formula which is catered for children from ages ten months onward, may contain insects which could be potentially harmful. It is understood the vast majority of contaminated packs, are the 330g packs that has a best before date of 27/09/2016.
Meanwhile the Food Safety Authority of Ireland have released a brief statement regarding the issue, saying: “Cow & Gate Ireland is recalling a batch of Cow & Gate Sunny Start My First Banana Muesli, due to possible insect contamination. “Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores that may have sold the affected batch.”
