The Taoiseach almost embarked on a weekend that could potentially lose his position. Seanad candidate, John McNulty who was openly endorsed by Fine Gael and Labour TD’s, lost the seat to Gerard Craughwell by just 13 votes.
Cronyism is alive and well, as Kenny wanted the Donegal businessman to secure the seat.
The government has now lost its majority in the Seanad and will struggle to pass legislation in the coming months, but moreover, Enda Kenny has lost face and some say he’s as bad if not worse than his predecessors.
