The Minister for Transport Shane Ross, has confirmed that Dublin City Council will receive €400,000 in additional funding to improve the city’s cycling infrastructure.
Mr Ross who issued the funding over the weekend said the additional money would improve infrastructure across the city.
He also said that it would actively improve over 40 key junctions across the city.
The Transport Minister who is said to be keen on encouraging people to take up cycling, told reporters that the majority of the funding would go to improving safety.
It is expected that the City Council will use the money to install smart cyclist detection equipment around the city.
